About Me:: I was Born in Rio de Janeiro (Leblon), Brazil in 1963, and grew up around the Gracies. I had a chance to attend historical fights like the Rickson Gracie vs Zulu in the Maracanazinho and other events. I also had a chance to meet Helio Gracie during a TV program that me and my identical twin brother used to work for "Flavio Cavalcanti". Despite all my friends were Jiu-Jitsu practitioners for some stupid reasons, I dedicated years of my young life trainning only Judo with probably the best Judo instructor "Mestre" in Brazil named "Castriomedi-Jorge Frances" in his academy located in Ipanema. I live in US since 1989, have a wife from Texas and the most beatiful 9 years old daughter that just started trainning Jiu-Jitsu today! I also started trainning at the Gracie Barra in Orlando-Florida with Marcio Simas and my goal is to get in shape mentally and physically again. I am 6'2" or 1.86 meters and weight 215 pounds. Helio Gracie is my inspiration for all he did for our generation in developing the most effective style of self-defense and attach in the world and crediting our country Brazil for that. Today I am a US Citizen and love both countries the same. The MMA is today what it is thanks to the Gracie family in proving the world in the 1990's what we in Brazil already knew "without the ground skills, the opponent don't have a chance against a Jiu-Jitsu fighter". Pretty good when 95% of the fights end in the ground!
